AMS 2750 E, CQI-9 STANDARD

AMS 2750 E (Aerospace Material Specifications) is a standard for the processing of high-quality materials in the aerospace industry while CQI-9 applies to the automotive sector. These standards describe the requirements for thermal process equipment:

- Temperature uniformity in the useful compartment (TUS)

- Use of control instrumentation for adjustment and measurement

- Calibration of the measuring line (IT) from the controller through the measuring cable to the thermocouple

- Verification of system accuracy (SAT)

- Documentation of verification cycles

Compliance with the regulations is necessary in order to ensure that the required quality standard for the components to be manufactured is also met in the series production phase. For this reason, extensive and repeated inspections are required, as well as checks of the instrumentation including the relevant documentation.

Provisions of AMS 2750 E for furnace class and instrumentation:

Regular inspections The furnace and heat treatment plant must be constructed in such a way that the requirements of AMS 2750 E are met reproducibly each time. The standard also prescribes verification intervals for the instrumentation (SAT = System Accuracy Test) and the temperature uniformity of the furnace (TUS = Temperature Uniformity Survey). The SAT/TUS tests must be carried out with measuring instruments and sensors that operate independently of the furnace instrumentation.
